How Does It Work?
CRAFT stands for Collaborative Regional Alliance for Farmer Training. Our goal is:
We are receiving generous funding from TOPP for 2026 so we are changing the format a little this year -
We will have 4 meetings this year - one in May, June, August and September. We will start with a general tour of the host farm, then have a panel discussion joined by two other farmer speakers on a particular topic. We will finish with a potluck dinner where we can continue discussing these topics and about farming in general!
Attendance is open to all farm workers, serious volunteers, managers, owner/operators in CT and beyond as well as family members. Starting in 2026 we are able to pay farmworkers $50 per person for participating for the entirety of the meeting. We will distribute stipends until we exhaust the allotted funds so it is not guaranteed for every meeting (if you want to know for sure, email Yoko prior to a meeting to confirm availability of funds). Stipends are NOT limited to farmworkers in CT - we welcome farmworkers from other states to join us!
Am I eligible for the farmworker stipend?
You are considered a farmworker for the purposes of this stipend if you:
